For November, as the last of the Autumn leaves fall- we are excited present a tribute to the incredible realm of the plants and botanicals we share the earth with, and our relationships with them.
Much like animals, plants have held positions as spiritual totems, guides, and symbols for mystical concepts throughout our history. Life on earth utterly depends on plants, the only beings who can live solely on sunlight and without causing the death of others to sustain their own (with the exception of a few carnivorous plants!). Medicinal plants can heal, and poisonous plants can kill. They provide oxygen and shelter, and can house whole ecosystems within just one tree. Ingesting them can provide flavorful sustenance, energy, and altered moods including psychedelic states of reality. Flowers are gifted to mark the import of special occasions,  from courtship, to celebrations of life, social positions and accomplishments, to being the last gifts we ever receive when they laid on our graves. Our own lives are inextricably bound to them, yet we often don’t think about them much.

We invited a group of artists to explore the idea of plants within their own practice, whether it be as a mystical connection, symbolism, or just lush ornamentation. The result is this dynamic and thought provoking show, and we invite you to revel in the quiet magnificence of the plant realm!
