Roq La Rue is thrilled to present "Nice and Naughty!" a eyeball popping show of paintings revolving around girls, girls,girls... both bad and good!

Yumiko Kayukawa is Seattle's favorite Japanese pop princess who graces Roq La Rue with
her paintings of icy beauties as often as she can get to the U.S. The innocently sexy Japanese girls surrounded by animals and traditional Japanese motifs, combined with a bright and joyful palette are gaining immense popularity around the globe. Every painting she has shown with us has sold on
opening night! Yumiko lives and paints in Sapporo Japan and will be in attendance on opening night. She will be showing 16 new paintings.

John John Jesse was raised in the lower east side of New York and his work reflects the juxtaposition and maelstrom of growing up in a strict Catholic environment while rapidly being seduced by the ethos of the punk rock movement in the late 70's and early 80's. Questioning what he saw as oppression and hypocrisy of organized religion, and that freedom of thought being frowned upon, caused John John to start creating blasphemous artwork, both as a way of laughing at it as well as giving it the finger. Despite a lack of formal art education John John's works are a breathtaking achievement f precise draftsmanship married with a profoundly individual style. This show will focus on his beautiful and dark pin ups- girls who are not only " bad" but revel nakedly in their darkness, addictions, and salvations.
