Jumping Spiders, Harvestmen, Thornbugs, Barnacles, Trilobites, ants and aphids, and more will be taking over part of the gallery as D Allan Drummond returns to Roq La Rue with a new show entitled "Closer". Taking a rigorous approach to scientific accuracy infused with joyous wonder, Drummond (who is also a biologist and molecular scientist) crafts meticulously detailed insects and arachnids from various eras of earth's history.
Each piece is researched and then recreated in a modeling program, then 3d printed and cast in bronze. These larger than life sculptures allow the viewers to really see all the details of the creatures Drummond is inspired by.
